I have put a claim in to my local benefits agency to claim unemployment benefit but I am still waiting on them to make a decision. I made my claim now about 3 weeks ago, all the forms were filled in and sent off correctly so I do not know what the hold up is. I have been told that the usual turn around time can be anywhere from a few days to a few weeks which isn't very helpful. I have tried writing to the benefits agency coventry for an update but they have failed to get back in touch with me so far. I am at a loss as to where to go next. I am wondering if citizens advice would be able to help me out with this, I do not know if they deal with this sort of thing though. I suppose the next option would be to visit the office in person but I have heard plenty of horror stories about people doing this and having to wait for hours sometimes to actually speak to someone and then be told they need to call a call centre somewhere! Its madness.
