Losing weight doesn’t have to be complicated, or involve a lot of supplements, pills and powders. The healthy way to lose weight is very simple.
First, find out what type of metabolism you have. If you are carbohydrate sensitive, you have trouble losing weight on a carb-rich diet, even if your calories are vastly restricted. This means you are a “Protein Type” and do vastly better when grains and starches are eliminated from your diet.
A “Carb Type” on the other hand, can eat a majority of their daily calories from fruit, starches and grains, and still lose weight.
A “Mixed Type” can eat a variety of foods from both categories and still lose weight.
Once you know what kind of metabolism you have, it’s time to start cutting back on the foods you don’t process well. For example, a Protein Type should cut down or eliminate starches and wheat products, especially in the early stages of weight loss. A Carb Type should increase the amount of fruits and whole grains they consume, and eat only lean protein.
In the early part of any diet, it is best to eliminate “whites”. White flour, white rice, potatoes, pasteurized milk and pretty much anything else that’s white. These foods (with the exception of potatoes) are heavily processed and filled with all kinds of chemical additives your body doesn’t understand. What it can’t understand, it labels as a “toxin”. What it labels as a toxin it stores in fat cells, usually around the belly and hips. (Potatoes are naturally starchy and produce too much sugar in your body)
So cut out the whites!
Counting calories doesn’t have to be a part of the healthy way to lose weight. Instead, just knowing what your body needs, versus what your brain craves, is enough. Craving junk food? Perhaps you haven’t fed your body enough essential, healthy fats. So have some nuts or a piece of meat instead of a plate of nachos!
Listen to your body. Feed it enough calories, but from healthy sources. Lean meats. Crunchy or leafy vegetables. Whole grains. Don’t deny your body the nutrition it needs.
